  1. 01. Management Team

    The Management Team supports, encourages, resources and oversees all Exodus Community activities and ensures the viability of the Community.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Liaison with the parish and supporting organisations.
    • Dealing with official business matters and finance.
    • Overseeing OH&S issues and all Team procedures.
    • Engaging, resourcing and training volunteers. All Exodus volunteers require a “Working with Children Check”.
    • Managing Alice House with Olympic Adult Education and The SALT Foundation
    • Supporting those wishing to experience an educational placement with Exodus.
    • Promoting Exodus and its activities through Facebook and Newsletter

    The Management Team meets monthly.

    Requests for support and for use of the Exodus bus can be made to the Management Team.

  2. 02. Drop In

    The Drop-In Team offers hospitality and support for a weekly occasion at the Exodus Community Shed, 273 Liberty Parade, where anyone can find company, support, encouragement and a wholesome lunch.

    The drop-in begins at 10.00am and concludes at 2.00pm, on Wednesdays.

  3. 03. Bread Team

    Each week Bread Team members collect donated bread from bakeries and distribute it to those in need.

    Bread is distributed on Wednesday evenings from 5.00pm. Volunteers most welcome via Contact page.

  1. 01. Preschool Children

    The Pre-school Story Time Team supports the language and early developmental needs of local children, through storytelling and interaction with other children.

    This activity is conducted as need requires.

  2. 02. Family & Children's Team

    The Family and Children’s Team supports families through a variety of activities and programmes.

    • Our Facebook Group
    • School holiday activities for children
    • Kids in the Shed – weekly after school programme
    • Summer family camp
    • Community Christmas carols and barbeque
    • Women of Worth – supporting women
    • Visiting families
    • Working bees for households

  3. 03. Youth & Young Adults

    The Youth Team promotes and trains young adults to be leaders in assisting with support of local youth.

    Youth activities include:

    • Recreation and leisure activities especially during school holidays
    • Summer recreational camp
    • Promoting support activities for young carers
    • Leadership training (camps, training days, short programs)
    • Assistance with job finding and skills training.
    • Bike Hut programme at Malahang Park
    • Fund raising activities
    • Providing practical support in the community – gardening, etc.

  1. 01. Faith Development

    This Team seeks to meet the spiritual and faith desires of the Olympic Village people, irrespective of their religious affiliation and previous experience.

    Team members meet with priests to plan weekly parish Mass which is held on Sundays at noon in the Banyule Community Health Centre, Alamein Rd, West Heidelberg.

    Occasional spiritual formation activities are conducted for those interested.

    The Team supports the parish Good Friday Way of the Cross conducted around the streets of the Olympic Village.

  2. 02. Advocacy

    Exodus Community volunteers advocate on behalf of many including those needing assistance with various institutions and organisations: Department of Human Services, Centrelink, Hospitals, Schools, Courts and Police.

    Some Exodus Community volunteers are also members of Residents Group 3081, which supports local people especially with housing issues. You can contact Residents Group 3081 on residentsgroup3081@gmail.com

    Exodus also works in partnership with many agencies and can help residents find assistance when required.

    All 3081 residents are accepted for help and assistance.

  3. 03. Outreach

    The Exodus Community is a presence to local people and some members visit the housebound, the sick and those dealing with various difficult issues.

    Donated goods, especially toiletries, laundry and cleaning products, are distributed to local residents by members of the Outreach Team.

    Some Exodus Community Members are skilled and experienced in areas of counselling, welfare, youth ministry, teaching/education, pastoral work and administration.

Volunteers

young-adultThe ministries of the Exodus Community rely on the generosity of its many volunteers. Interested volunteers can make contact through the contact page.

Volunteers will be directed as to requirements regarding Police Checks, Working with Children Checks and any possible training.

Exodus Community welcomes volunteers from many walks of life, age and circumstance.

 

Alice House

Alice House is a residential property at 101 Ramu Parade, Heidelberg West donated in 2014 for Community use by the owner. It is managed by Exodus, Olympic Adult Education and The SALT Foundation.
